Savannah is the wonderful lady of the south. She's the flower in Georgia's hat, and serves as a vacation destination for anybody looking for history, warm temperatures, amusement, and the taste of something else. A visit to this sleepy locale would do anyone good, so have a look at all that Savannah has to supply and consider a trip in this direction sometime shortly.
Culture is Savannah's forte, so come here with a mind to learn, explore, and be saturated in a long, proud, and characteristic history. One of America's first towns, Savannah existed as a seaport and center for development in this country's earliest days. Many famous folk have left their mark here, as the design and historic landmarks can prove.
To correctly appreciate the celebrity downtown area, take a carriage tour, a spook tour, or simply walk around with your eyes totally open. There are lots of designated points of interest, and you almost certainly won't have difficulty catching some stories from the locals. To fully appreciate this rich and visually pleasing district, there are even one or two vacation rentals that will open their doors to you and your traveling companions. Bet you've never stayed in a restored corner shop built in the 1800's that has been turned into a fashionable, urban flat.
Being downtown will also keep you inside a reasonable distance to other pleasing sights, like Forsyth Park, Central Market, and many museums, shops, and dining corporations. The rooftop deck offers expansive views of Savannah and the twinkling stars above it, so enjoy a nightcap as you relish this fabulous feature of your vacation rental.
If you'd like to venture further away, maybe towards the sea, Tybee Island makes for a great day trip. Take a short trolley, bus, or car ride and spend a couple of hours relaxing in the sun, sea canoeing, and bird watching. After you've had a stomach full of the Georgia beach, it'll be good to revisit the mainland for a night of blues or jazz, and you won't have far to go to come back to your quirky, comfortable, apartment. A kitchen to cook straightforward meals, a fold-out couch, and a private patio will all make you feel comfortable and will erase any tension you may have had about finding sufficient lodgings.
For bigger groups, imagine being able to stay in a stately southern home complete with guest cottage and all of the conveniences everyone will need . Spread out at night and then meet back up in the great room for a morning discussion about what to do that day. The coffee maker, toaster, and microwave allow for fast breakfasts so as not to waste a minute of sunlight, or if you'd prefer, just venture down the street and look for a captivating caf to get things rolling on a high note.
And, being that the options will all look pretty good, your biggest problem will be the easy way to fit everything in to the time allotted. With this in mind, you might consider increasing your stay now, before it's time to head home to the daily grind.
